Veeam Backup and Replication – Unable to mount the selected database on the staging server<\/h3>\n

I have installed latest version of Veeam Backup and Replication V11 build 11.0.1.1261 which is installed with MSSQL 2016 Express edition. My customer just upgraded MSSQL servers to 2019 edition, the problem is when you trying restore database from backup with enabled AAP you got an error message:\u00a0<\/p>\n

And this is problem, i have MSSQL 2016 on my Veeam Server (stagging server) and restore instance is MSSQL 2019. Of course, you can use another MSSQL Server 2019 in your network, but by best practices the VBR server is isolated – this is very complicated for me, so i decided to upgrade VBR MSSQL to latest 2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The upgrade process:\u00a0<\/h4>\n

Download SQL 2019 Express and launch it and choose the Custom installation type.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

choose media location and download it !<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Before starting the upgrade, please disable all of your jobs in VBR console and stop all Veeam services. you can use nice powershell command to stop all Veeam services „Get-Service<\/span> Veeam* | Stop-Service<\/span><\/strong>„<\/p>\n

launch the upgrade wizzard<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

choose instance of you SQL you would like upgrade<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

and after some time your SQL server is upgraded to 2019, now is time to reboot the server<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The SQL was upgraded from 2016 to 2019, so launch a veeam console and enable your backup jobs \ud83d\ude42 and in my case, the restore of SQL DB was OK :))<\/p>\n
