After successfull configuration i connected PS500T to the Windows Server 2025 DTC hosts and trying to format 25 TB volume to NTFS.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A PowerStore volume takes a long time to format due to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=TRIM%2FUNMAP&amp;rlz=1C5CHFA_enCZ1055CZ1055&amp;oq=poweerstore+format+ntfs+take+long+&amp;gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIJCAEQIRgKGKABMgkIAhAhGAoYoAEyCQgDECEYChigATIJCAQQIRgKGKABMgcIBRAhGI8CMgcIBhAhGI8C0gEINzM1MWowajeoAgCwAgA&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;ie=UTF-8&amp;mstk=AUtExfAXoqjY79PpZKisppnzZKBKmXLz9dvMQRfoxoq5mlVrtve7-3gSzzLKM9KzV6KAjzQRDBlLkdsniUPOpKjigt8P1c9Gx0mHCF1Ro3I8nvTpS4Z5YxuayXS_Sh9WrEIeX29F_iYljuqN3nQ_2VqSSLyn8QxYXxURje2lP9zHNrIrRyo&amp;csui=3&amp;ved=2ahUKEwiJnIfl7e6PAxWm4wIHHdHEKO0QgK4QegQIARAC\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>TRIM\/UNMAP<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0feature in Windows, which is enabled by default. To speed up the process, you can\u00a0<b>temporarily disable TRIM\/UNMAP<\/b>\u00a0by using the\u00a0fsutil behavior set disabledeletenotify\u00a0command in an elevated Command Prompt on the host server. After formatting, you should\u00a0<b>re-enable the setting<\/b>\u00a0to maintain disk space recovery capabilities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Why does it take so long?<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><b>TRIM\/UNMAP with thin provisioning:<br \/><\/b>When TRIM\/UNMAP is enabled on the host, formatting a large volume on a thin-provisioned PowerStore can result in significant wait times.
