Hyper-V 2025 – Cannot start saved VM – could not initialize memory

The hyperv node was unexpectedly restarted and 2 VMs remained in the saved state and could not be powered on. The error message was „Could not initialize memory“. I chcecked available memory on the hyper-v node and it was ok. 

The resolution of this problem is right click to the affected VM in the Hyper-V manager and click to the „Delete Saved State“ after few seconds VM is power-off and you can start it up.
