Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5u3 – fails after installing VMware vSphere 6.7 Update 1
After update VMware vCenter to 6.7u1 the Veeam Backup & Replication fails with error „Object reference not set to an instance of an object“ its caused by change in vSphere 6.7 U1 API.
The workaround
Currently there is not a fix for this error in Veeam B&R, but temporary workaround is create a registry key on Veeam B&R server.
Open Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and create a new registry key in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication section – Create Multi-String Value.
Create the key VMwareOverrideApiVersion and assign the value 6.7.1=6.7.
The created new registry key, reboot the server and re-run the failed backup/replica jobs.
