Veeam v11update failing with – Failed to get path to the update package
i just started the upgrade process like usually, the customer had version 11.0.1.1261 P20211123 so i downloaded the Cumulative Patch P20210525 from Veeam site.
But when we started the update process we got an error mesassage „Failed to get path to the update package„
I tried to reboot the VBR server, disable AV, re-download the update package, but nothing works. So customer told me, that VBR server is in domain and some GPOs are applied on VBR server, one of the GPO is – Turn off Windows automatic root certificates updates and also the VBR server has no access to internet.
So when we enable the internet access to server and remove link of GPO policy, run gpupdate /force and reboot the server you can install the update, because the certificates in trusted root folder had been updated and image was verified.
The source is pretty old, but still works 🙂
