VMware ESXi – How to Enable SSH on ESXi host
There are multiple ways, how to enable SSH Service on your ESXi host.
- Console
Press F2 and log in under root account to your ESXi host, in system configuration
go to Troubleshooting Options and Enable SSH - vSphere Client
Log in under root account to your ESXi host and navigate to ESXi Host > Configuration >
Security Profile > SSH > Start SSH Service. - ESXi Embedded Host Client (only in ESXi 6.0)
Go to https://ESXiIPaddress/ui/#/login and log in under root account. Click to Actions > Services > Enable Secure Shell (SSH)
or go to the Host > Manage > Services > TSM-SSH > Start
