VMware vSphere – How to save Resource Pool Structure

If you disable DRS on your cluster from vSphere Client, the resource pools are automaticly deleted. But if you disable DRS from vSphere Web Client, you can save configuration of your Resoure Pools.

for example, i have these 7 resource pools  cluster

now disable DRS on cluster –  go to the Cluster > Manage > Settings > vSphere DRS > Edit

and unclick „Turn ON vSphere DRS“

now click to „Yes“ (this option is only available in vSphere Web Client) to save config of your Resource Pools

Save config to your computer

DRS is disabled and Resource pools disappeared

Once DRS is enabled for the cluster right select the cluster and select Restore Resource Pool Tree…

locate your backup config and clik OK.

restored Resource Pools !!! 🙂
