Windows Server 2012R2 – virtual machines fail with Kernel-Power ID 41

Windows Server 2012 R2 as Virtual Machine on VMware fails with BSOD. If you open event viewer you see Kernel-Power Error with ID 41 from System log.

Shutdown VM and Edit Settings > Go to Options > General >CPUID Mask > Advanced.

and change edx under Level 80000001

change to —-:0—:—-:—-:—-:—-:—-:—-

Click OK to close the VM properties and start VM.

    Hello Tomas,

    I have this same problem on my environment. I have checked this article and I think this could fix my issue but You don’t explain what it is the real problem. Why does this issue happen? and Why does your method resolve it?
