VMware ESXi – very slow boot or host stuck at vmkibft loaded successfully
I just started upgraded the customer infrastructure from the VMware vSphere 6.7 to the latest DELL customized image A06. The process is very simple, because the SD cards or USB is not supported as boot medium in vSphere 7.0 i reinstall VMware on the SSD disk, and restore the configuration, BUT the boot was very slow and some nodes hangs with message „vmkibft loaded successfully“.
The resolution is very simple. Be sure, that on the node is no running VM, put the host to the maintenance mode and go to the configuration of Storage Devices and simple remove the Static Discovery values, after rescan the adapter and reboot the host. The problem is FIXED ! .)
